I know this subject has been mentioned before, but I need an unambiguous answer. Maybe scientific papers can do without footnotes, but I know that papers in the humanities are hopelessly dependent on a well-executed footnote strategy. They contain not just citations but vital information that for one reason or another cannot be part of the main text. In other words, Manuscripts is unusable for me (and many others) until the footnote feature has been added.
Now that I have bought Manuscripts and love it, I want to know how high this feature is on your To Do list.
I would also like to add that the Manuscripts App window is already ideally suited to display footnotes next to the text. The right pane could easily have a third subdivision next to the current Content and Style panes to display footnotes.
