Just a quick follow-up. This only seems to be an issue when using Magic Citations without first importing the Library for Papers 3. After importing the library this seems to be working fine. Is this by design or should the Magic Citations work similar to how it does in Word - you can just put the citation in the document and there is no reason to import the entire library? As I have a rather big (and messy as I only correct the reference data on papers I actually use in articles I am writing) Papers library it would be good if it was not necessary to import the whole library.

That being said, I am looking forward to writing my next couple of articles using Manuscripts.

I hadn't used Manuscripts in a while because it took longer to reformat the reference section than to export from another App and add the references using Papers. Based on the last comment on the previous thread ("this is fixed in the upcoming 1.1.2 version, finally.") I had hoped that this was fixed. However, I still have the same issue. In APA (and the other styles that I tried just to see if it was a problem specific to APA) the publisher information is not displayed on the reference page.

Correct entry: Hyland, K. (2004). Genre and second language writing. Ann Arbor, MI: University of Michigan Press.

Manuscripts : Hyland, K. (2004). Genre and second language writing.

As you can see, all of the publisher information is missing in the Manuscript's citation and the title is not italicized correctly. It is filled in correctly in Papers and the pop up entry in Manuscripts (Of course there is no Publisher or Location information in the pop up entry in Manuscripts. Something I had hoped would change as this is important information - it is also necessary in Chicago, which is the default for Manuscripts). This is a pretty serious problem as it makes it a lot more work to use Manuscripts over another app. While I like how manuscripts looks and enjoy writing in it I need an application that I know will export the document in the correct format, without information missing.

This is a pretty serious problem as it makes it a lot more work to use Manuscripts over another app. One of the big selling points (for me anyway) about Manuscripts is that I can use it with Papers without having to export my file as a rich text file first to get magic citations to work. Until this issue is fixed Manuscripts actually takes more work than something like Scrivener, Pages, or Word.

@mz2 So far I really like the application. I would also be very interested in an iPad version of the application. I use Papers for all my writing but don't currently use it for writing on the iPad because I have not found a way to insert citations from Papers into a document when working on the iPad. It would be great if there were a connection between Papers and Manuscripts on the iPad (if and when an iPad version comes out) that made this possible.
