Please feed back on your experiences with importing to and exporting content from Manuscripts.
Very interested in the app. I use Scrivener with MultiMarkDown extensively for my Thesis.
One thing I couldn't tell - do you allow syncing with external folders?
In Scrivener I use the sync as text file feature, and then do bulk editing in Sublime Text, and then sync it back into Scrivener.
Would such a workflow be possible?
I see that you have import from MultiMarkDown, and export to MultiMarkDown, so hopefully most of the core functionality is there.
@Simon-Knight that's an interesting idea. There is no automated export or import feature to / from a file outside of the manuscript file at this stage. So, a two-way sync facility to an external file in quite that style does not exist, but you can paste in (or drag in) Markdown, and similarly paste out Markdown (or indeed LaTeX with which a similar feature may be handy too). So we very much want to support interchange between markup and rich text editing.
- creating and manipulating content (sections, individual paragraphs, figures, tables etc).
- exporting content.
What is missing is any kind of callback that would be passed to the automation API when content is changed by Manuscripts. That wouldn't stop hacking together an initial version -- if someone were to hack together such a feature using our scripting API I certainly would do my best to help!
