Bookends bibliography import not working

I try to import my bibliography from Bookends into Manuscript, in order to try to work over a new book.
As I follow all the required step, after a while I got the following error message:
"The operation couldn’t be completed. /Users/robertogozzoli/Library/Application Scripts/com.manuscripts.Manuscripts/ImportBookendsLibrary.scpt: execution error: Bookends got an error: AppleEvent timed out. (-1712)"
I understand that it might due to the fact that it takes some time to import them, they are rouhgly 4,000.
In any case, the problem should be solved, or at least let me know how to solve it. I very like Manuscript, but as I want to use Bookends, the error message stops me work with Manuscript.

@pharaoh would you mind sending us your Bookends library to support@manuscriptsapp.com, please? This is a private support email address and we keep all data received there absolutely confidential. This is an issue we have not encountered before so an example file will help us resolve it the best.

As a workaround you could export your bibliography out of Bookends into a BibTeX or EndNote XML file and import it as a file via File > Import > Bibliography Data > From File until we have resolved this problem.
