Issue copying LaTeX equation

I have a LaTeX equation in my LaTeX text document. For example

\delta_r x_j \equiv \delta x_j / {x_j}

I copied the LaTeX text to Manuscripts. The equation displays in-line. I selected the equation and pasted it to the equation editor. I get this

\\delta\_r x\_j \\equiv \\delta x\_j / {x\_j}$

Certain codes are "escaped".

Thanks for pointing this out – looks like we are escaping some characters in a way that we need to adjust. We'll do our best to fix.
